The Winstep Nexus dock is a FREE dock for Windows. Fortunately, and uninstall solved it for him.Nexus Dock v18.1 Released! January 20, 2018 Tried on my son's system who has 4x the resources most have, same thing, 100 cpu usage, slow downs. This can be an awesome dock but it needs a lot of work. Maybe bad programming, reminds me of another software that did the same, sucked up all resources for nothing. (And YES, I have plenty of resources to run this) If I can run Skyrim on Ultra without a hiccup, there's no reason this should do this. It seems it does not access the graphics card for it's resources. Lo and Behold, the same thing repeated itself. Safe mode allowed for a restore which I then used a virtual environment to test it on. I could no longer shut the computer down except by cold shutdowns, hung on the shutting down forever. If I opened Ccleaner, I would get two Ccleaners, same for Firefox, VLC, Windows Media player. On my main machine, I began getting horrible slow downs shortly after setting the Nexus settings and double windows opening. The Bad: 100 cpu usage when simply hovering over icons. It also boasts numerous docking options and all in all feature wise, likely the best dock out there. The Good: Win Step Nexus has more features and effects than you can shake a stick at. The free version has no functional limitations and should be sufficient for the majority of users that are looking for an easy to use and stylish application launcher. The program is also available as Ultimate/Extreme Edition (not free) which include additional features like multiple, nested docks, display modules and other features that are not necessarily needed by most users. You can choose from various unique skin themes and further customize the appearance by adjusting mouseover effects, icons sizes, transparency, reflection effects and other visual settings. WinStep Nexus is all about eye candy but also offers support for several advanced features like command-line arguments, hotkey launch, custom icons and Run As options. You can simply drag your frequently used applications, documents or folders onto the launcher to create one-click launch icon that provides quick access to the item. WinStep Nexus is a stylish and easy to use application launcher that can be placed or hidden along the edge of your screen.
